Classical Roots is a premier music school based in Brampton, ON, with over a decade of dedicated experience in teaching Tabla to students from diverse age groups and backgrounds. Our school is renowned for its specialized focus on Tabla, offering lessons in a variety of styles, including classical, light/semi-classical, film, and ghazal. Guided by the time-honored traditions of our esteemed Guruji, Smt. Rachna Mehra, our extensive and well-structured curriculum equips students with the foundational skills and advanced techniques needed to excel in their musical journey.

Our Founder and Guruji, Shri Ray Persaud, brings over 20 years of rigorous training under the tutelage of Smt. Rachna Mehra. His dedication and mastery have earned him numerous accolades, including performances with top local and international musicians, as well as collaborations with renowned recording artists and music labels. Shri Ray Persaud’s deep-rooted connection to the musical heritage and his exceptional talent have made him a prominent figure in Canada’s musical community since the early 2000s.
